Deja Vu, Starring David Wright

I was nosing around everyone's favorite online auction site earlier today, checking out some cards from 2012 Bowman Platinum, when I came across this card:

Which looks a lot like this card:

...and this card, too:

This is really shameful.

And that's all I've got to say about that.

  1. Ummm, at least it's a nice picture?

Topps used to do this in the 60's all the time. You know, back when they had a monopoly on baseball cards and didn't have to try very hard. *SMH*

    1. Ha, good point! And the scary part is Topps has about 176 more card sets to release this year, so who knows how many more times this picture will pop up.

On the bright side, as you noted, it least it's a good pic!

  2. Here's an example of Topps' 60's recycling:

I've noticed on Wallach cards they at least try to hide sometimes, for instance they took the front photo on the '95 Bazooka, cropped it some, and used it on the back of the Topps D3 card.

It's weak, especially when no photographer in the world is just going to snap one pic of player, cross him off his list and move on. Even if it's the same at-bat, or different points in the same swing, just mix it up.
