A Refreshing Change

I've really been enjoying all the Heritage '13 posts I've been seeing around the blogging neighborhood.  The reaction has ranged from tepid to enthusiastic from what I've encountered.  I don't think I've come across anyone totally ripping the product to shreds.

Is 2013 Heritage perfect?  Nope.  Is it even on par with past releases?  Maybe not, but the totality of that remains to be seen.  As with many other releases, you either love it from the start or you come to appreciate it with more vigor over time.  Then, of course, there's the "aw hell no" faction. But, like I said, I haven't seen that yet.

I'd color myself into the "love it" category.  Warts and all, this is a pretty exciting set.  Then again, Heritage is my favorite Topps product, and it would take a lot to turn me off from it.  Thus, I plan to dig deeper into it, as planned.  [Ed. Note: It's spelled h-o-m-e-r.]

The Torii Hunter card above is one I had planned to highlight in my initial review post, but it kind of got lost int he shuffle.  How downright refreshing to be spared the ugliness of Photohop!  I'm not suggesting we be buried under an avalanche of press conference photos on cards, but seeing one or two from time to time is a great thing.  It's funny how it's popped up in Heritage, though.  I'd more expect it in the flagship.  But I'm not complaining.

Keep those Heritage posts/reviews coming!

  1. I will eventually get tired of Heritage reviews, but it won't be anytime soon. I promised myself that my 2nd rack pack would be my last (at least for a while), and I snagged two more Padres, so my run of luck isn't doing much to temper my excitement. Has anyone ever praised Topps for their collation? I might be the 1st! A blaster and two rack packs = no doubles and six Padres (and other stuff). Only two SPs though, which are heading your way, along with some other stuff.
